This is the beginning.
If you’re here, that means you probably know who I am and you can probably guess what I’m doing here. That’s right, I’m bored and picking up ANOTHER project that will soon fall to the wayside. Maybe I have undiagnosed ADD or maybe I really do just get over trying, but the amount of projects I’ve started and deserted is astonishing, unless you’re a creative yourself then we’re probably on the same page.
As IRL homies can attest to, I am a very critical person. But like a cool critical person - a cool mom. I realize that can be hard to deal with especially since I act like it’s my job to stay on top of all the trendy tings in this world so I have an opinion on everything. I think it’s important to understand that my criticism comes from wanting the person, project, piece, etc to continue to develop and grow and be the best it can be. I can honestly say that I’ve never meant to discourage or tear down anyone, but emotions are complicated and things are taken personal.
As I type this, I think the purpose of this substack is to be an outlet for all my opinions. So I’m deciding right here, right now that this will hold my opinions/criticisms on various subjects and I promise they will be short, concise, and thoughtful. Again, I’m not coming from some bitchy faggotry, but from an genuine interest in the subject and a hope that I can show anyone a different point of view.
That being said, Welcome to AARKIVE’D. I am your narrator, Aarkive, and for the sake of thoroughness, I am a artist currently residing in Los Angeles. Anything can be my medium and everything inspires me. I hope you like what you read in the coming months.
Deep like,
